Three steps

How to Download a Pinterest Board

  1. 1

    Open the board on pinterest.com

Any board you can view works — your own boards, secret boards you have access to, or public boards from other users. Nothing to configure first.

  2. 2

    Click the Download board button

The extension places the button directly in the board's header, next to Pinterest's own controls. Saving starts immediately — pins begin downloading while the board is still being scanned.

  3. 3

Get one ZIP with everything inside

A progress window counts every pin as it's saved. When it finishes, a single ZIP named after the board lands in your Downloads folder — no folder clutter, no hundred separate download prompts.

Built for whole boards

What Makes This Board Downloader Different

Images, GIFs, and videos

Photo pins are saved as full-resolution images, animated pins as real .gif files, and video pins as MP4s — all inside the same archive. Pins that only embed an external video (a YouTube link, for example) host no media on Pinterest, so they're listed in the completion summary instead of being silently dropped.

Original quality

Every pin is requested as the original file from Pinterest's CDN — the size it was uploaded in — not the compressed preview the feed shows. Each file is also checked to be real media before it goes into the ZIP, so a network hiccup never leaves you with a corrupt image.

Sections become folders

If the board is organized into sections, the archive mirrors them: each section becomes a folder inside the ZIP, so a curated board arrives on disk already organized.

Pause and resume

Large board? Pause the download any time and pick it back up — pins that were already saved are never fetched twice, so a resume continues from where you stopped. Keep the board tab open while paused; resume also survives a page reload or browser restart.

Good to know

Before Your First Board Download

  • It all happens in your browser. The pins travel directly from Pinterest's servers to your machine, and the ZIP is assembled locally — the files never pass through anyone else's server on the way.
  • Secret boards work. As long as you're signed in to Pinterest and can open the board yourself, the extension can download it — it uses your own session, exactly like your browser does.
  • Honest completion summary. If a board contains pins that genuinely can't be saved — deleted pins or external video embeds — the completion screen itemizes them, so the count you see always matches what's in the archive.

No catch

Whole-Board Download Without a Paywall

Downloading a full board is usually the feature tools lock behind a subscription or cap at a handful of pins. Here it's the flagship: there is no account to create, no upgrade screen, and no per-board pin cap. A 600-pin board downloads the same way a 6-pin board does — click once, get the ZIP. The extension also works for single photos with a hover button and a link-paste popup, so one install covers both workflows.

FAQ

Common Questions

How do I download an entire Pinterest board?

Open the board on pinterest.com and click the Download board button the Pinterest Image Downloader extension adds to the board header. Every pin is saved and packed into one ZIP in your Downloads folder.

Is there a limit on how many pins I can download?

No. There is no per-board pin cap — a 600-pin board downloads the same way a 6-pin board does — and no sign-up or paywall.

Can I download a secret or private Pinterest board?

Yes, as long as you are signed in to Pinterest and can open the board yourself. The extension uses your own browser session, exactly like viewing the board does.

Are board sections kept organized in the ZIP?

Yes. If the board has sections, each becomes a folder inside the ZIP, so a curated board arrives on disk already organized.

Can I pause and resume a large board download?

Yes. Pause any time and pick it back up — already-saved pins are never fetched twice, and a resume survives a page reload or browser restart while the board tab stays open.

Does it download board videos and GIFs too?

Yes. Photo pins save as full-resolution images, animated pins as .gif, and video pins as MP4 — all in the same archive. Pins that only embed an external video host no media on Pinterest, so they are listed in the completion summary instead of dropped.
